Thurman Brown
Thurman Brown has served approximately 25 years in juvenile detention, county, and state prisons since youthful offender status at age 16. His last incarceration ended July 24, 2009, after serving twelve years, ten months, and eight days, of a fifteen-year sentence.
Since release, he completed parole supervision in 2012 instead of 2022. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social/Criminal justice in 2013 and a Master’s of Human Administration with a specialization in Mental Health in 2016. Thurman is a Master’ level New York State CASAC (Comprehensive Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor), licensed by New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports.
Thurman is a creative and strategic problem-solver, who builds bridges where there are gaps in services. He reconnects value systems with patient outcomes and is passionate about tackling complex problems. Thurman is the current owner/CEO of Thurman Brown Consultant.
